Couples/Partners and Families

Relationships can be hard! It's often with the people we love the most that we behave our worst. We drop our guard. We say and do things we regret. But it doesn't have to be that way!

Research is showing that the most successful relationships are the ones in which we know how to fight well. What does it mean to "fight well"? How do you transition from arguing and feeling upset to being able to cultivate your love and your connection? Counseling can help you develop tools to fight fairly and effectively, as well as nourish the love in your relationship(s).

Whether you are dating, cohabitating, married, or considering separation or divorce, most couples can benefit from counseling at various stages of the relationship.
Regardless of the type of relationship, counseling will help you optimize the health and satisfaction you have in your chosen relationship(s).
Whether you are monogamous, polyamorous, or somewhere in between, "couples" counseling with your partner(s) can help you navigate complex feelings, situations, and relational triggers.

Families come in various shapes, sizes, and designs. Whether your family includes biological children, adopted children, foster children, grandchildren, in-laws, or extended family members, or any combination of those things, family sessions can include any relevant family members.

I specialize in working with families who:

  • have children with difficulties or diagnoses,

  • have foster/adopted children (and/or are adult adoptees and parenting)

  • have very young children and experienced a medical or birth trauma,

  • are grieving the loss of a family member,

  • are going through a significant transition, and/or

  • struggle to communicate well.

Family Intensives

Nature-based family intensives are available upon request. Intesives can be as short as 3 hours, or as long as 5 days! Intensives are customized based on family needs and typically include a combination of art therapy, equine therapy, somatic/body-based/trauma-informed yoga practices, and time to reflect. Bodywork (i.e. massage therapy or reiki) can be added to these packages.

Family intensives are a great way to invest in changing patterns, improving communication, and developing clarity about who each member of the a family is, and how you want to be together.
Transformed families transform our communities!
